cafeBlue Tokai
We have been having Blue Tokai Coffee at home for a long time now, but I was not really a big café person until recently, so somehow this Sunday morning was the first time I actually got the chance to go to one of their cafés. I went to the one in Connaught Place, and the first thing I noticed was this really nice blue theme they had going on. Surprising 🤔
They did have matcha, but after my recent experiences with matcha in Delhi, I decided I should maybe stop doing that to myself. Also, it is Blue Tokai, so getting coffee felt like the correct thing to do. We were a group of three, it was very early in the morning, and I was on a mission to consume less sugar so I ended up getting an iced americano. Obviously, there is only so much you can say about an americano but this one was really really good. It was smooth and not too bitter.
I still don't know if, for these reviews, I should be getting the more complicated drinks or just the most basic cup possible to see what the place is actually working with. So far I have mostly been doing the latter, which is probably boring, but also maybe fair. If the simplest drink is good, that usually says enough. The others got an iced cappuccino and a vanilla bean latte, and both of them were happy with their choices too, so I think we did pretty well.
Overall, the aesthetics were great and the coffee was very good. Blue Tokai is one of those places I already knew was good from having their coffee at home, but going to the café made me get it a little more. Will be coming back again, and maybe next time I will order something more interesting.
