Taipei bakeries and restaurants
Taipei has plenty of great local food, and this isn't meant to be a guide to the top local eats. These are the bakeries I was excited to try and also some restaurants I have been to.
Bakeries
I've recently been on a bakery kick. It's usually a weekend start-the-day kind of thing, so I tend to order through Uber Eats, so there could be more to these pastries fresh from the bakery.
Fourninetine — 9.5/10
My favorite one so far. Bakery experts that I know approve of this place so take their word for it. And while I am no expert, I am giving it a 9.5, which should save us both a very long paragraph about how much I like it.

Peckish — 7.8/10
The ruby black tea croissant was very new to me, and I really enjoyed it. 7.8/10.

PureBread — 7/10
I tried this place because they had sourdough and other kinds of bread. The sourdough was really good, and the almond croissant and pain au chocolat were nice too.According to Uber Eats, I also got a kouign-amann but I don't remember anything about it, and I'm not sure I've ever had one before.

Seasons
I've been here twice, and it's a really good place for a special occasion. The food is good and the atmosphere is lovely. At this price, I expect the staff to give a little more detail about each dish and the service felt a bit more laid back. Still, I think it's a solid place.

Saffron 46 — 9/10
On the 46th floor of Breeze Nanshan, Saffron 46 is an excellent fine-dining Indian restaurant, with a beautiful view of Taipei 101. It was a really good take on Indian food, with plenty of options to try, and it felt authentic throughout. A solid 9/10.

T+T
The food at T+T was creative, and the nine courses made for a really good tour of Asia. The staff did an excellent job explaining each dish, and the whole evening felt polished down to the details. While it was more laid back and casual, T+T does have a Michelin star, which makes sense. I'd highly recommend it.
