cafeAlayna Café
June 21, 2026. A very important date in my personal history.
After numerous shitty matcha experiences in Delhi, it was on this day that I finally had good matcha again after what felt like a year. It had actually been maybe a month lol.
Alayna was a sweet escape from the usual Delhi café situation. The first good sign was that they had an actual chawan and whisk on the counter, along with ceremonial grade matcha. I cannot explain how relieving that was. You know you are in cooked land when the bare minimum starts feeling like a blessing.

For the record, I am not shitting on Delhi. Matcha is not really a staple here, and it is still new for a lot of people. I get it. But after one too many bad matchas, it was just nice to find a place that actually got it right.
I got an iced matcha latte, and it was very good. Not “good for Delhi.” Just good. It was smooth, balanced, not too bitter, and not drowned in milk. It tasted like they had put some thought into doing it right, rather than just adding matcha to the menu because it is popular right now.
The café itself was quiet when I went. It was just the staff there, which made the place feel a little undiscovered, or maybe I just came at a dead time. Either way, it felt calm, even though they also had the usual café-adjacent things like tote bags, shirts, and jewelry for sale. It still felt like a newer, less-known spot that is figuring out its identity, but the good thing is that the matcha actually gives it something solid to stand on.
This is easily the best matcha I have had in Delhi so far. I am giving it a 9 because it ended a very dark chapter in my life. I am excited to go back 😋
I hope this review does not sound sponsored. It is not. But Alayna, if you want to sponsor me, hit me up. I am clearly very easy to impress if you own a whisk.
